Dear Jake,
Just wanted to 'Thank You' for your excellent work in our backyard. As spring approaches, it's a pleasure to look out the kitchen window and admire our new landscaping with plants and trees beginning to bloom.
I continually find myself taking the long way around the yard , so I can pass through and enjoy the patio, walls, and cedar additions. I have wonderful memories of the month of November. It was always comforting to know that you, Brian and Tony were enjoying your work.
It seems as though spring took its time getting to our neighborhood this year. The last week has felt like the end of winter and maybe a touch of summer. The following poem by Robert Frost, though, reminds me to be patient and not complain......
The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March
Thank you, Jake, for your great work! I will always remember the month of November '02. It still seems like a dream! You did in a month what I had been trying to do for 28 years. I'm very grateful for your dependable work. Your talents and creativity are admired. Our backyard has now become a resting spot; a source of inspiration, and a place of fond memories. As I look out over our new patio, I often think of my daughter and son and remember when our family was much younger.
The following story brings back memories..... A father looked outside and saw his own children and their playmates pressing their hands into his newly laid concrete sidewalk. Flinging open the window, he gave the kids a tongue-lashing. His wife, shocked, asked, "Don't you love your children?" Replied the husband, "In the abstract, yes; but not in the concrete!"
Best wishes, Jake. Your work will always be remembered! Thank you!
Gratefully,
Tom Baumann
Dear Brian,
Just wanted to 'Thank You' for your excellent work in our backyard. As summer approaches it's a pleasure to look out the kitchen window and admire our new landscaping with rhododendrons and azaleas beginning to bloom.
I find myself taking the long way around the yard, so I can pass through and enjoy the patio, walls, and cedar additions. I have wonderful memories of the month of November. It was always comforting to know that you, Jake, and Tony were enjoying your work.
Our pergolas and trellis are starting to show the effects of the winter rains, the March winds, and the warmer temperatures. I was planning to stain our new additions during June, but will wait for a stretch of dry weather. After reading the following story, I may even wait until July for our annual Seattle drought. Here's the story that reminds me to keep an eye on the weather forecast and only paint when the skies are clear....
A congregation decided to paint the walls of the church. They were doing an admirable job until they began to run out of paint. They decided to thin the stuff in order to complete their task. Shortly after the job was finished, the rains descended from the heavens, and paint began to peel from the walls of the church. And a thunderous voice boomed from above: "Repaint and thin no more!"
Thank you, Brian, for your great work! I will always remember the month of November 2002. It still seems like a dream! Your talents and creativity will always be admired. Your pergolas will last a life time and be enjoyed every day. I'm very grateful for your dependable work. Our backyard has now become a resting spot, a source of inspiration and a place of fond memories.
Best wishes, Brian. Your work will always be remembered. Thank you!
